Unauthorised Consumer Credit Activities

The CCA has recently been approached by the FCA's Enforcement and Market Oversight Division regarding their remit to take action against firms and individuals engaging in unauthorised financial service activities.

We would like to ask our members to assist us and the FCA in protecting consumers and authorised firms by reporting any loan sharks or illegal lending activity that you may encounter or be made aware of.

Any information on unauthorised consumer credit business can now be sent to the FCA's intelligence team by emailing: firm.queries@fca.org.uk or by using their online reporting form.

The FCA is unable to provide feedback on how the information is followed up due to the restrictions regarding confidentiality imposed by the legislation that they operate within.  For more information about the FCA's policy and restrictions on releasing confidential information, visit their website.

We would like to thank you for your assistance in this matter.
