Informing and supporting businesses in the
home credit industry

Central Finance & Loan Co Ltd

Belfast based Central Finance was established over 40 years ago by Cyril Noble.  Originally a trainee in the Belfast Co-Operative service, he had ambitions to create his own business grounded in the ethical values and sales skills he had acquired during his apprenticeship. Cyril was actively involved in Central Finance until he was 80.  Today the firm is a family concern, with daughters Nikki and Angeline at the helm.

Support during difficult times...

Unlike many of the UK's home lending companies, Central Finance operated during the difficult time of the troubles in Northern Ireland, maintaining and delivering a critical home door step lending service to support the needs of the local community. The firm's membership of the CCA was particularly valuable during the troubles, supporting their reputation of trust, respectability and professionalism to combat any negative perceptions of doorstep lending at the time.

Benefits of Membership

Central Finance has experienced numerous benefits from CCA membership over the last 40 years including:

•  The CCA's credit search services have been particularly useful, allowing Central Finance to be able to provide a more efficient service to its customers during the initial application phase

•  The team at the CCA have been on hand to answer questions and provide general support throughout the FCA authorisation process

•  The CCA's roadshows help to keep the team at Central Finance up to date with the latest rules and regulations

•  Access to documentation such as credit agreements has helped the firm to save time and reduce costs•  Membership allows the interests of Central Finance and other home credit firms  to be represented and protected throughout Europe

Nikki Noble of Central Finance & Loan Co Ltd comments:

"The CCA's support has been instrumental in providing guidance over the last few years and more recently, during our FCA authorisation application, they have been absolutely fantastic. We would say that membership of the CCA is essential for any firm operating in the home credit sector and we are proud to be associated with the organisation."
