About us

The CCA is the trade association for home credit industry in the UK and Republic of Ireland, promoting high standards of business and consumer relations.

Meet the team

The CCA has an established, dedicated, full-time team based at the Association's Chester headquarters. Find out more about the people who, as a CCA member, you will deal with on a regular basis.

  • Stephanie Smallwood

    Membership Secretary/PA to Director General

Steph has been with the Association for 12 years, and for much of that time she has been the first point of contact for member enquiries.

In recent years, she has undertaken a dual role, as Membership Secretary and also acting as PA to Director General.  This is an extremely varied role which includes responsibility for arranging the Annual Convention, handling complaints and assisting members with their credit licence application and renewals.

Prior to joining CCA, she was a business partner in an Independent  Mortgage Brokers, assessing customers’ needs for mortgage products and selling ancillary life products and was an appointed representative of a large insurance company.

  • Mike Hart

    Policy, Training and IT Coordinator

A graduate of Edinburgh University, Mike has been with the CCA for more than a decade. His main member-facing role is to assist members to be compliant with the complex and extensive consumer credit legislation, regulations and official guidance.  Specialist areas include credit advertising, money laundering, credit reference agencies and lenders compared submissions and Mike covers these subjects and many others in his training workshops.

  • Anna Roberts

    Administrator

Anna Roberts joined the CCA headquarters team as administration assistant in December 2007. She works closely with financial controller, Julie Parker, and has a wide variety of duties including processing voucher orders and agreement sales, as well as providing general support to members and the Chester team.

Before joining the CCA, Anna held administrative roles at the Countess of Chester Hospital, a pub management company based in Chester, and had worked for a number of other businesses in the retail and legal sectors. Her very first job was working for a football agent where a large part of the role involved proof reading the contracts for the players /managers. This stood her in good stead for the proof reading of the agreements that she does at the CCA.
